It was lovely drawing in the Jubilee Flower Park last Saturday, and the sun even came out for us!
Over two Saturday morning sessions, we gained confidence in drawing from observation by studying interesting objects.

This week, moving on from line and shape, we experimented further with composition and depth.
This week, through studying nature’s forms and patterns, we learnt about line and shape in drawing.
Come along on an experimental drawing journey to discover new ways of looking through line, shape and gesture!
The afternoon was all about bringing together what we’ve learnt about the lives of lighthouse keepers, their families and the islanders who welcomed them into the community.
Our second Lookout Drawing session on Bressay! We again looked at memories from local former keepers and lighthouse families, but we also explored ways of drawing from sound and textures, bringing the past to life.
Thank you to all participants for our first Lookout Drawing Session at Mareel yesterday!
With Bressay lighthouse as our starting theme. These are companion workshops to the Lookout! sessions at Mareel.
